Andy Roda - A Soaring Voice in House Music.

With the string of new releases rolling out from the multi talented singer, songwriter, musician, producer, DJ and curator Andy Roda, this part of his journey might as well be the defining moment, as he returns to his first love, house music. With a career that spans nearly two decades since his debut album “Dish” on Virgin Records, Andy’s “new beginning” is off to soaring new heights, with house music veterans supporting the release of “High On Love” and “Curiosity” EPs, written in collaboration with HDSN and Martin Eyerer, and released by legendary label King Street Sounds. His soulful vocals can be heard on an impressive list of collaborations, including his Ibadan Records debut “Fired Up”, which is a fresh, original take on New York house, created with head honcho Jerome Sydenham, co-written by Kerri Chandler. Noteworthy mentions are upcoming works with Chicago’s Ron Trent, Hip-House pioneer Tyree Cooper, Italian duo Alaia & Gallo, PEZNT/Blacksoul to name a few, as well as his deeper and darker sounds, channeled through his protege Alex Scuderi.

Andy was proudly made in the Philippines, molded in Copenhagen, graduated in New York City and now living in Berlin where his studio and label ALIGN Records are based. A classically trained musician who is equally comfortable in jazz, soul and r’n’b, yet anchored in house, reflecting his roots in gospel music - which is the very essence of his ministry. His childhood church and The Sugarbar in New York City, owned by his musical mentors Ashford & Simpson, are two of the core influences that have helped shape his output. A writer in the traditional sense, Andy constructs his lyric accompanied dance music much as his mentors, while as a performer he communicates his feel good music in a way only the most seasoned performers know how. On the production side there is a nod to the timeless styles of MAW, Kerri Chandler, Frankie Knuckles, and the melodic sophistication of Jimmy Jam & Terri Lewis, honoring the trailblazers who paved the way, while pushing forward and carving out his own unique path.

In addition to his recordings, Andy is the co-founder and host of The Church Berlin- Berlin’s Most Uplifting Live House Party, as well as the co-founder and curator of P-NOiSE - The Global Filipino Connection celebrating Film, Arts and Music. Both platforms were created with the intent to bridge and empower his communities and fellow artists, through continuous showcases and festivals, which include events held in Berlin, Cologne, Copenhagen, Paris and Manila to this date. Andy has also toured Internationally as the lead vocalist for platinum selling Danish act Safri Duo, and he was the first Danish-Filipino to represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest. Andy continues to spread his music weekly with his special “Live Vocal & DJ Sets”, which is a musical journey through the soulful, deeper, afro/latin, and tech'ier styles of house music.
