John enjoys making music - as a trombone player with The Tres Bien Ensemble and in recordings with Andy Creegan, Leela Gilday, Great Lakes Swimmers, King Cobb Steelie, the Polka Dogs, Random Order, UIC and Sandro Perri - as Key Artistic Director of the ground-breaking music program Keys to the Studio that matches young, talented musicians who have been diagnosed with neurocognitive differences with Toronto professionals to create original music - as a composer (Music Gallery) – as a conductor (Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Bang on A Can Festival, Hemispheres Orchestra) and formerly as a student (Juilliard).
