Hungarian-born violinist and advocate of new music. He studied at the Franz Lizst Academy of Music and at Detmold in Germany. From 1970-74 he served as concertmaster for the Berlin Radio Orchestra. Since 1979 he has been a Professor of Music at the University of California, San Diego.
