Philip Savage (1949 - 2012) started his musical career with groups Frosty Moses and Sundance before setting-up Outlaw Studios in 1976 in Birmingham, UK. Outlaw Studios was later sold to Ocean Colour Scene who renamed it Moseley Shoals. He is the current co-owner of Major Key Studios Ltd. and runs a Sound Production and Music Industry Practice foundation degree at the University of Wolverhampton.

He also worked as sound engineer on the The Blue Ox Babes tour in 1988 and has recorded or worked with groups such as Fine Young Cannibals, Duran Duran and Dexys Midnight Runners.
