American producer, composer and educator. When young his family moved from Newark, New Jersey to Westfield, where he met the barbershop boys in Plainfield who would form the foundation of P.Funk. Went to Parsons College in Iowa, then moved to San Francisco early 1970s where he got involved in
Mother Earth. He recorded and played live with them through their first album on Mercury but then left. Became a student at New York City College, and learned production skills at the Insitute Of Audio Research and the New School. Started playing in the P.Funk family, also making his own music. In 1979 his demos for the Space Cadet project got him signed. The album was recorded in 3 months and released in 1981, with little success.
With over 30 years of experience in the music business. His credits include the writing and production of music for Sony, Atlantic, Mercury, Vanguard and CBS Records. In addition to his work for TV and film, Sailcat has written and produced meditation and yoga videos and CDs for the fitness industry. Soul Glow Productions has just released his newest CDs Out Of Body and Deep Space which are based on the vibrational principles of health and healing and his lifelong study of metaphysical music.
