With the split of the RPM group, keyboardist Luiz Schiavon and guitarist Fernando Deluqui, who now also share vocals, joined vocalist and guitarist André Lazzarotto and formed the group L.S.& D. (Lazza's initials, Schiavon & Deluqui).
After six months of working on the compositions, the trio released the album Viagem na Realidade.
The album, which features a special appearance by DJ Patife on the track O Caminho do Céu, shows a diverse sound compared to that used by RPM. In addition to traditional pop rock, the group also uses elements of rap, techno and others.
The first song to gain national release was Madrigal, which became the opening theme for the soap opera Cabocla (on Rede Globo).
The initial print run of the CD, which was sold only on the official website (www.lsd.art.br), was one thousand copies, which were autographed and numbered. This first edition was in a special 24 x 14 cm package.
This album hit stores almost at the same time as the CD Zum Zum, by PR.5 - a group formed by Paulo Ricardo and P.A. (both former members of RPM). This split in the band occurred in 2004 when Paulo allegedly registered the name RPM without the authorization of the other members.
The end of RPM opened up space for two bands to showcase their respective work within this increasingly competitive market.
In order for this project to become fully consolidated, the two musicians realized that the band needed a musician who, along with Schiavon and Deluqui, could perform (like Deluqui) the functions of guitarist and vocalist. This would open up a huge range of sound possibilities, both in instrumental work and vocals. Thus, the invitation was extended to André Lazzarotto, also known as Lazza, a musician from a new generation and very active in the São Paulo underground.
There were twelve songs, including Madrigal, the opening theme of the soap opera Cabocla, which had a lot of repercussion on the radio and presented lyrics with poetic images, framed by an arrangement based on guitars and harpsichords, evoking Renaissance madrigals.
But the album also has more visceral songs like Novo Dia and Uma Qualquer. The mix of influences like rap and techno appear in Fechando a Guarda, LS&D and Caminho do Céu, the latter with the participation of DJ Patife. Música Para Seu Corpo follows the same line and has everything to bomb on the dance floors. Pop ballads also find their place, both in more introspective songs, like Verdadeiro Amor and Através da Noite, as well as in the cheerful O Mar and Chuva. And, of course, an instrumental theme could not be missing. The song Fear shows the strength of LS&D musicians, who literally take listeners on an eternal musical journey.
