Hannes Råstam was a bassist who played with bands like Text & Musik and Blåkulla, and as a live and session musician for, among others, Björn Afzelius and Rolf Wikström.

At age 36 Råstam left his music career behind and worked as an investigative journalist for the rest of his life, winning a number of prestigious awards. He died in early 2012 from cancer of the liver and pancreas, the day after finishing his last book.
