Early in his career, he recorded and wrote under the stage name Glenn Douglas,
then went on to write nearly 200 songs, including those performed by his friend Johnny Cash, under his given name. In the last years, he and his wife ran Douglas Glenn Tubb and Dottie Snow Tubb Ministries, Inc., based in Nashville, TN.
