French pianist, composer, and improviser.
Originating from from Paris, France, Destrez started playing piano at age 9, and when 16 he quitted school to become a musician. At 20 he entered the American School Of Modern Music Of Paris to study harmony, composition and music arranging.
From 23 he toured for the first time as a professional musician, and a year later was invited by
Ludovic Navarre to join the musicians of
St Germain’s first album, [m=385] (1995), which was a huge success, so the collaboration continued.
Under alias
Alejandro Del Abelgam he also played with
Shazz. In 2000 he joined the pop group
Overhead, and from 2002 he also became a member of the band
Oscar. Later he founded group Inner Soul (2).
