Miguel Sá Pessoa is a Portuguese musician, composer, music producer and sound engineer, he was born and raised in Lisboa where he attended The Lisbon Conservatory as a classical piano student, but his musical interests soon shifted to Jazz. He was granted a full scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Composition and Music Production.

He has worked with a wide variety of artists as both a performing and recording musician and as an arranger and producer, in different genres from Pop to Jazz, some of the artists hel has worked includes: New Kids on The Block; Jordan Knight; Mark and Donnie Wahlberg; Mai Kuraki (Japan); Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group); Luciana Souza; Nando Lauria.

Miguel’s credits as a composer and producer include work for Disney (film), Sony Music, Island Records, Atlantic Records, Public Television and more. He is also active in the international scene, teaming up with Perry Geyer and Michael Africk (Virtual Recordings) as a writer/producer for Mai Kuraki and Yumi Shizukusa, two of Japan’s leading Pop singers.

As a sound engineer he as worked at studios such as Mission Control, Cybersound Studios and since 2011 works at Bairro Up! studio in Lisboa which he owns.
