East German beat band. In 1958 Klaus Renft founded the Klaus Renft Combo in Leipzig, from which the band Butlers emerged in 1962. It is one of the pioneers of the beat movement in the GDR. The band was banned from performing in 1965, which is considered a trigger for the Leipzig Beatdemo. It was re-established in 1992.
