Started in the music scene in 1950, joining
Joe Liggins & His Honeydrippers on a tour, following which he joined
Ted Anderson's combo which brought him to New York. Through
Nipsey Russell he landed a spot at Harlem's Club Baby Grand using the stage name as The Cobra Kid. This landed him a recording contract with [l121391]. In 1958 he started recording as
H-Bomb Ferguson & His Mad Lads. H-Bomb Ferguson & The Mad Lads. The last recordings for this group came in late 1959 for [l1543806] in Cincinnati, Ohio. He continued to live in Cincinnati permanently.
