He charted in the U.S. as a songwriter 5 times, all from 1939-40. Four of them were top 10 singles, including the #1 song Moon Love by The Glenn Miller Orchestra, (co-written by written by Mack David & Mack Davis). Moon Love charted 4 times in 1939: also by Al Donahue and His Orchestra, Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra, and Mildred Bailey. On the Isle of May by Connee Boswell made it to #3 (also co-written by Mack David).
