US recording engineer originally from Indiana. Son of RCA Records chief engineer Henry Edward Roys. After graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Purdue, he started out as an assistant engineer at RCA Studios, New York then moved to RCA Victor Studios, Nashville in 1971 where he worked at Studio B. After the RCA studios in Nashville closed in 1977 he was hired by Shelby Singleton to engineer for Sun Records at Singleton Sound Studio, where he worked until the mid-1980s.
