Jazz & rhythm & blues bassist, born Thibodeaux, Louisiana, 4 July 1928, died 31 October 1995.
Bassist and bandleader Luscious Lloyd Lambert's band backed
Eddie Guitar Slim Jones in the studio and on the road in the 1950s; he also worked with
Ray Charles and
Little Richard, among many others. In later years, he was a fixture at Bourbon Street clubs, toured with
Lillian Boutté and occasionally sat in at Preservation Hall. He was brother of pianist and singer
Phamous Lambert, father of Theresa Andersson's bassist Lloyd Lambert, Jr., and the grandfather of bluesman
Kipori Woods.
