German writer born in Hamburg in 1941, studied languages and art history in England, France and Spain.
She lived in South Africa for 12 years, acting and directing in her own theatre. After her return to Germany, she published novels and children's books, made translations, wrote screenplays and worked for television.
Today she lives in New Zealand with his husband Helme Heine.
