Founded in 1908, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia was the first orchestra in Italy to focus exclusively on symphonic music. Since Sir Antonio Pappano took over as Musical Director in 2005, the orchestra has greatly gained in prestige, obtaining widespread international recognition. The Archi di Santa Cecilia and Luigi Piovano have been working together since 2013, when their first concert featuring music by Schubert in Rome.
