American jazz trumpeter (born September 28, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri died July 08, 1983 in Los Angeles, California).
Not to be confused with his father Lammar Wright (1907-1973), also a jazz trumpeter. He is the brother of the trumpeter Elmon Wright.
He played with Lionel Hampton (1943-1946), Dizzy Gillespie (1947), Charlie Barnet among others, and recorded with R&B’s stars as The Coasters and Otis Redding (’50s & ’60s).
