American bassoonist (primarily), clarinetist, arranger, conductor, and Professor of Bassoon at [l275380] (1959-1987).
During the World War II, he was a clarinetist in The Band Of The Army Air Corps and later played in various Navy bands and ensembles. He conducted many small (mostly wind) ensembles and the Oberlin College Conservatory Orchestra and Oberlin Chamber Orchestra at various times during his tenure at Oberlin.
Also avid sailor and bicycling enthusiast.
