US-Canadian tenor saxophonist, vocalist, composer, and arranger. Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia he moved to Canada to avoid the draft. Originally landed in Winnipeg but soon moved again to Toronto, where he joined other US ex-pats to co-found Downchild Blues Band in 1969. When Downchild disbanded at the start of 1978 he became an original founding member of the Powder Blues in Vancouver, playing with them for over 20 years.
