Manager of Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe for some years.

Co-founder of Stiff Records with Dave Robinson in 1976. He left in 1978 to start Radar Records. He left that too in 1980 and founded F-Beat and Demon Records.

He later sold these and was fired by Costello in 1991. He has since retired.
