Danish singer and public figure, born 1968. Initially an ice skating champion and international model, Sanne Gottlieb first appeared at the alternative scene in Copenhagen fronting her own pop outfit, Candy Club, around 1986. Three years later, in the early summer of 1989, she joined Copenhagen based art pop/avantgarde group The Poets and was an integral part of this controversial and highly volatile outfit until the end in 1993. After an unsuccessful attempt forming yet another band of her own in the middle of the 90´s with band mates from The Poets, Frithjof Toksvig and Niclas Tange, she moved into journalism, acting and, musically, more conventional pop. For more than a decade she lived the expat life in Singapore and then, following a highly publicized divorce from her CEO husband, a few years in Milan - both places releasing singles and albums in her own name. Currently she is back in Copenhagen, where she works as a radio hostess. March 2017 she released her first novel, Sleep Stalker, to critical acclaim.
