Dutch musician, lyricist, composer, and producer who became known as a member of
3JS. He plays guitar, bass guitar, piano, and harmonica.
Jan de Witte is the more often used pseudonym of Jan Schilder (born in Volendam, 11 March 1988).
Before joining 3JS as guitarist, De Witte was the lead singer in his own band
Blue Velvet. The band was formed in 2004 and in 2011 they released their debut album.
Jan is the son of
Jaap Schilder also knows as
Jaap de Witte. Jaap has a neurological disorder and therefore had to quit for the 3JS in 2013. He handed over the baton to his son.
In April 2019, Jan announced that he would leave 3JS too, to focus on his own band
Blanko. The last 3JS show with Jan de Witte was in Caprera, Bloemendaal, on June 22, 2019.
Jan was replaced by
Robin Küller in the 3JS.
