He won an open scholarship to Trinity College of Music as an organist in 1949. He has played with all the London Orchestras, including New Philharmonia Orchestra/Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the English Chamber Orchestra. He was editor/arranger for [l330854] in London (1987-1993).
