Cab Calloway And His Orchestra Reuben "River" Reeves & His River Boys Johnny Dodds' Black Bottom Stompers

American jazz trumpeter, born October 25, 1905 in Evansville, Indiana, died September 1975 in New York.
Worked with Erskine Tate 1926-1928 and Dave Peyton 1927-1930 in Chicago, joined Cab Calloway in New York, returned to Chicago to lead own groups 1933-1935. From late 1930 until end of World War II played with and led army bands, then worked with Harry Dial. Ceased to work full-time in music 1952.
