Inspired by bands like ? & The Mysterians, The Seeds, The Stooges, and New York Dolls, Pugliese formed the band The Vamps in 1974. The Vamps opened up for the Sex Pistols at Randy's Rodeo, Sunday, January 8th, 1978. When The Vamps ended, Pugliese formed the punk band Mystery Dates in San Antonio. After Mystery Dates broke up in 1984, he went on to sing for The Infidels and The Morlocks. In 1990, Pugliese formed garage punk band, The Sons Of Hercules, remaining the lead singer and only constant member.
