Zan Stewart (* 29th March 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, USA) is an American jazz critic, musician, writer, photographer and teacher.

Stewart started writing for the L.A. Weekly in 1979 and moved 1980 to the Los Angeles Times where he wrote reviews and his weekly Jazz Notes column. He has also written for DownBeat, Jazz Life, Swing Journal, Jazziz, Musica Jazz and from 2002 till 2010 for the Newark Star-Ledger, New Jersey's largest newspaper, from which he retired in 2010.

Zan Stewart lives and works in Richmond, CA, USACa., in the East San Francisco Bay.
