French musician and publisher, born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1940.
Jean-Marie Salhani arrived in France in 1966. He founded the group Solitude in 1969 in which he plays bass. In the early 1970s, Jean-Marie Salhani decided to turn to commercials, film and radio music. In 1975 he founded the publishing company Editions Jean-Marie Salhani and later in 1979, the label JMS.
In 1983 he created another label Cream Records (3), for licensing in France the recordings of foreign artists produced on other labels.
In 2006 he created his own distribution structure, Sphinx Distribution for both labels and Abstract Logix
Publishing is my first and only job [...] from the only concern to fully valorize the artist and his work. Jean-Marie Salhani was Vice President of the SACEM (2007-2008) and President of the MRSA.
