He was born January 6, 1928 in Jakob in Defereggen and died December 23, 2018 in Innsbruck.
He started to work at ORF Tirol in 1967 and was named director of Ernste Musik and classical music from 1969 till his retirement in 1990. From 1963 to 1992 he was also leading the chamber choir Kammerchor Walther Von Der Vogelweide. Both were led by Bert Breit before Costa took over.
