Formed in 1995 by Zak H Laycock & Ian Allen (AKA DJ Spatts), Environmental Science were a Break/Big Beat from London who were active until 2001. Additional live members included Seamus Smith, Faz (AKA Joanne Farragher) and Adrian Count Stranik. Starting out on their own label 'Twisted Systems', the group quickly found fame remixing 'Poison' by The Prodigy. This would later lead to them becoming signed by Skint Records, where they would release the 12 EPs 'Plim-Soul' and 'Coming Home In A Bodybag'.
Their works would be featured on many cult classic compilations, including the 'Beats By Dope Demand' & 'Brassic Beats' series.
An album titled 'Popular Fiction' was set to be released at the turn of the century by Ugly Records, but it never came to fruition.
In 2020 the label Big Fat Mama Beats released a digital only best of collection.
