He played in the 70s with trombonist
Eje Thelin and in the groups
EGBA,
Resa and the funk-inspired ensemble
Häxmjölk under the direction of guitarist
Jan Tolf. Later member of the jazz group
Entra. During the 2000s active as leader of the improvisation group
Priming Orchestra and member of
Peps Blodsband. From 2012 onwards, Harald Svensson’s music has mainly been characterized by a freer improvisational tone language with the acoustic piano as a tool in smaller ensembles, e.g. in collaboration with double bassist
Nina De Heney, but also as a soloist.
As a composer, Svensson has written music for jazz ensembles and for the percussion ensemble Kroumata. He has also composed for choir and in collaboration with dancer Carmen Olsson composed electro-acoustic music for a number of dance performances.
