John Wicks (1953-2018) was a British record producer and songwriter, who has worked with numerous artists in the United Kingdom and the United States. Wicks was best known as the lead singer-songwriter of English power pop band The Records, who formed in London from the ashes of The Kursaal Flyers during the 1977 punk rock movement. Although The Records went their separate ways in 1982, Wicks remained musically active, writing, recording and performing new material, also co-writing, recording and performing with several artists, including Debbi Peterson and emerging young singer-songwriter, Dani Lee, amongst others.
