Scottish band based on the Isle Of Skye, formed in 1991, at a concert in Edidbane. The Peatbog Faeries are Scotland's best known names in the contemporary folk music scene mixing Celtic melodies with jazz and folk overtones. They have played to fans all over the world. They have won multiple awards and were inducted to the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.

Peter Morrison and Innes Hutton are the only remaining original members. The other three founding members were Davie Tait, Alan Edmunds and Ali Pentland. During a period of a few years, the band went through personnel changes and a limited edition cassette entitled The Great Ceilidh Swindle” was released in 1995. The line-up by this stage, as well as Peter and Innes, were Didi Findlay on fiddle and vocals, Ali Pentland on guitar, Dave Bagley on keyboards and Willie Molleson on drums.
1996 saw them sign to Greentrax, a Scottish record label where they recorded their album Mellowosity”, which was to remain a Greentrax top 10 seller for nearly 15 years. More line-up changes occured before the release of the album Faerie Stories. Due to contractual reasons, the album wasn't released by Greentrax until 2001. It was self-released by the band in 2000.
2002 saw a change not only in the line-up, but also in their musical direction by adding a brass section on Welcome to Dun Vegas.

The next significant change came in 2003 when Roddy Neilson took over from Ben on fiddle, present guitarist Tom Salter replaced Ali Pentland and Leighton Jones assumed the keyboard role from Norman. This line-up recorded the album . This line-up stayed constant for four albums: “Welcome to Dun Vegas” in 2003, “Croftwork” in 2005, “What Men Deserve to Lose” in 2007 and their first live album in 2009.

More line-up changes happened, and a brass section was featured on much of the 2012 album “Dust”.
They celebrated their 25th anniversary, Live@25 in 2017 and released their latest album to date I See a World in 2023.
