Alrune Rod (Mandrake Root) is a Danish, psychedelic/progressive rock group that existed between 1968 and March 1975. They were originally called Alrunes Rod on their first single, the 1969 7 Pigen på stranden (The Girl On the Beach), as well as their 1969 selftited album debut. Leader was Leif Roden (1948-2010), creating the major part of the band’s material.

Alrune Rod disbanded in 1975, but was reformed in the 00’s with original members Leif Roden, Mikael Miller and Ole Poulsen
