Irish folk singer and musician, playing guitar, tin whistle, and harmonica. A founding member of The Dubliners, he was sidelined by a brain aneurysm in 1974, and ceased performing shortly after, although the band paid him out as a full member until his death 14 years later. Born 18 February 1935 in Dublin, Ireland, died 10 May 1988.
