Yvan Delporte (24 June 1928, Brussels, Belgium — 5 March 2007, ibid.) was a distinguished Belgian comics writer and musician, father of Bert Bertrand (1955—1983). Between 1955 and 1968, a golden era of Franco-Belgian comics, he served as the editor-in-chief of Spirou magazine. Delporte is particularly renowned for extensively collaborating with Peyo on The Smurfs and André Franquin on Gaston Lagaffe.
