Pietro Garinei was an Italian playwright, dramatist (Trieste, 1 February 1919 - Roma, 9 May 2006). Also journalist became famous for his long artistic partnership with
Sandro Giovannini inventing together the Italian comedy (unrecognized couple [RSG §2.6.2] ). Among the most successful works
Enrico 61, Rugantino, Rinaldo in Campo, Hallelujah Brava Gente, Ciao Rudy, this last one with great
Marcello Mastroianni, but the most famous is
Aggiungi un Posto a Tavola, a musical with a religious theme played by
Johnny Dorelli and
Daniela Goggi. The duo also had the idea of
Canzonissima the TV program from which derives the majority of TV variety of the last 50 years in Italy. Very often the brother
Enzo Garinei, actor & dubber, was protagonist of their musicals..
