Presented the first edition of the BBC chart show Top of the Pops on January 1, 1964, continuing as a regular host for almost 20 years, and presenting the last weekly edition on July 30, 2006. He was the host of Jim'll Fix It (1975-1994).
Posthumously exposed as a sex offender against children throughout his life, stripped of honours, with revelations through the investigative detection of Operation Yewtree.
