Mason Jennings is a folk pop singer songwriter from the United States.

Jennings was born in 1975 in Honolulu, Hawaii but moved with his family to Pittsburgh at an early age. Jennings learned to play guitar at the age of 13, when he began writing songs. Jennings later dropped out of school, at age 16, and moved to Minneapolis to pursue his musical career. At 19, he'd already attracted the attention of a major booking agency and begun receiving offers from record companies, but he decided to record and produce his first album himself, with just him and his guitar. The self titled album, Mason Jennings, was released in 1997 and was an underground success.

In October 1998, joined by drummer Chris Stock and bassist Robert Skoro, he formed the Mason Jennings Band. The band gigged regularly into the 2000s. Jennings continued to release solo albums to indie success and was known for his soulful voice and introspective lyrics.

Jennings started a new project called Painted Shield with Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard in 2014 and has released a number of albums with them.

Jennings continues to perform and lives in Minnesota.
