Guitarist & singer, Brother of Texas Jim Lewis, started recording in the 1930s. One of the first guitarists to use a solid body electric guitar. In 1947 luthier Paul Bigsby made a custom electric solid body for Rivers which predated the one Bigsby later made for Merle Travis. Rivers moved from LA to Seattle in the 50s where he continued recording, owned several record labels & performed live until the 60s. After that time, he continued to perform well into the 80's (I should know, my father performed with him on tour) and he also relocated to Arizona where he formed two labels in the late 70's-Alsie, after his wife, and then [l1456837].
