Buddy Ebsen (born April 2, 1908, Belleville, Illinois, USA – died July 6, 2003, Torrance, California, USA), was an American singer, dancer, author, film, television and character actor, whose career spanned seven decades. Perhaps best remembered as the actor who played Jed Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies and the title character in Barnaby Jones.
