Gert D. Buitenhuis is a Dutch Composer, Conductor and Clarinetist, Born on September 5, 1943 at Zeist, The Netherlands.

Education: Clarinet and Piano at [l1409293] and Conducting at Brabants Conservatorium of Tilburg (both cum laude).

In the early 60's Gert joined De Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine of Rotterdam as a Solo Clarinetist, Concert Master and Arranger. He was appointed Principal Director of De Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine from April, 1986 until his retirement in December, 1995.

Gert was also the Principal Director of the Lillestrøm Musikkorps of Norway.

Gert was Founder and Owner of the [l2535691] (out-of-business), a Music Publishing Company which was specialized in compositions and arrangements for concert band.
