THE SAVAGES, as individuals, are quite unlike their name as a group. They are, in fact, a quartet of gentlemanly college students, average age twenty. The Savages were first established in 1964 and the name today is the forefront of beat and pop music in Bombay.

On this disc, both compositions are by Hemant Rao, the Lead Guitar. In Pain, the group is assisted by exciting vocal effects by Asha Puthli, of the city's most gifted young singers.

The Savages are the 1968 winners of 'The Sound' trophies for performance and composition. These trophies are annually awarded by The Institute of Social Service, Bombay, at annual contests of music. They have been created to symbolise the eternal spirit of music whether it is Beat or Beethoven.
