Producer's Notes
Somebody Loves Me is an unused title from Jimmy Smith Plays Pretty Just For You. The rest of these trio tunes come from a July 3, 1957 date that started out experimentally with Jimmy trying some tunes on piano (an instrument that he played over 30 years later at a Mt. Fuji Jazz Festival jam session.) The experiment wasn't successful and Smith switched to organ for the six standard and jazz tunes that appear here. - by Michael Cuscuna
