Welcome to Eternal Chapters

Eternal Chapters is a collection of bands that are featured on my weekly Gothic music and information radio show, Sacrament Radio which Is aired weekly on community radio station 2RRR 88.5 FM In Sydney, Australia. Sacrament Radio started on the 10th March 1993, due to a lack of airplay for Gothic music. Most of the bands 3 featured on this release, received airplay for the very first time in Australia, on Sacrament Radio.

My original thoughts for this release came to me in 1996, a time when 2RRR was struggling to keep the station on air.

2RRR. Ryde Regional Radio on 88.5 FM, is a community radio station that serves the needs of the North Western region of Sydney. The station has a wide range of programs covering genres such as independent, metal, jazz, classical, country, reggae, funk, and lots more, including having a strong commitment to ethnic broadcasting In 16 weekly language programs. It Is this radio station which let Sacrament Radio start its weekly Gothic music and information program. Sacrament Radio has a major following, especially due to the lack of radio airplay which Gothic music is given in Australia, and is aired each Wednesday night from 10pm until Midnight. On 12th April 2000, Sacrament Radio started broadcasting on the Internet via the Sacrament Radio web site, which opened on 10th November 1999.

Having established 20 years as a cooperative, 2RRR is one of Sydney most popular and well established community radio stations broadcasting 24 hours a day. 2RRR has two fully equipped studios, supported by more than 100 volunteers. The station runs solely on the volunteers' efforts, government grants and community donations. It costs a lot to keep the station up and running, and if money is not constantly coming in, programs such as Sacrament Radio, and Gothic music in general, go unheard.

This is where Eternal Chapters came in. As the writer-producer and presenter of Sacrament Radio, I approached many of the bands which feature regularly on the show, and many of these have been extremely kind enough to donate a song of theirs to the Eternal Chapters project. It Is to all of these bands. which I owe my eternal gratitude. The monies from sales of the Eternal Chapters album, go to 2RRR to help keep this community radio station “on air”

Eternal Chapters Is not only a fundraiser for 2RRR, but it documents just some of the brilliant music that has been featured on Sacrament Radio, throughout its first ten years!
