Crossing Parallel was written as an extended film audiovisual performance piece. The film was made by Joe Taylor, using human-free images of the American Southwest (sunrises, mountains, deserts, landscapes etc). It was intended as a step sideways from the soundtrack I composed for Taylor's narrative film, The Crossing, which was filmed in the Nevada desert. This parallel piece begins with some of the same elements as the soundtrack, but takes off from there. I stood at the center of the space, surrounded by four inwards-facing speakers and two large subwoofers. Taylor's film was projected in front of the audience.
