The SAVOY SOUND was, for a year, a rather eclectic assortment of music and art. It was only through the collective forces of the musicians, technicians, artists and ideas that made it the hotbed of talent that it was for so short a time. It was a casual, often inebriated atmosphere always pregnant with prospects where many bands were spawned, ideas formed and friendships made. No one ever knew what was going to happen next. The Savoy closed, but not before it could make a deep impression on San Francisco and its music.
