From January 6th to February 20th 1979 the Goethe-Institut or German Cultural Institute and Radio Deutsche Welle will realize their first joint musical venture in Africa. That venture will feature, from the German side, the seven member jazz-rock group headed by the very well-known German Guitarist Volker Kriegel. The groups name: Volker Kriegels Mild Manic Orchestra.
The group will perform in Khatroum, Lusaka, Ndola, Mombassa, Lomè, Dars-es-salaam, Nairobi, Kinshasa, Douala, Yaoundé, Lagos, Ibadan, Ife, Accra, Kumasi, Abidjan, Ougadougou, Bamako and Dakar. Everywhere they go, they jam with local musicans.
