As part of our ongoing collaboration between 2015 and 2017, Chris Gollon & I had a joint 'Naked Music' exhibition in London in January 2016. It was there that I first played my song 'Gimme Some Wine' which was my response to a painting by Chris, which in turn had been inspired by the song 'Dreaming of Leaving' co-written by Lloyd Cole & myself.

Chris went on to paint a whole series of blue paintings - as a nod to our shared love of Picasso's famous phase of work. He titled the series of paintings, drawings and studies 'Gimme Some Wine'.

The song is dedicated to Chris's memory, to his wife Ann, children Lawrence & Alice, and to David Tregunna of IAP Fine Art - his friend and manager for over twenty years.
