Duplicated By Cinram This CD is known to have been distributed in 20-packs of Imation-branded CDrs. Disc contains a single-track audio session when played in a standard CD player informing the user that the disc must be inserted into a computer.
Upon insertion into a Windows or Mac computer, it launches its own Macromedia Director-based interactive music player. This player has its own track metadata, bios of the artists of the songs featured on the disc, info about the Mp3.com website, and links to other advertised software. Video material nominally requires the installation of Pixelon software, but is on the disc in a folder entitled Video with three files in MPEG-2 format and one file in QuickTime SVQ1/QDM2 format. The MPEG-2 video files include trailers for the Sony films Black and White and Whatever It Takes, and a trailer for the video game Die Hard Trilogy 2: Viva Las Vegas. The QuickTime format video is a sample video not used by the interactive player. Installable software is present in the Tools folder and includes the aforementioned Pixelon, Beam-It CD recognition software meant to be used with the (now-discontinued) My.Mp3.com service, I Can Share e-mail personalization software, and MP3Fix. The XTras folder includes Macromedia xtra files used by the interactive player.
